摘要

Times Are Pretty Tough these days for U.S. bankers. Not only do they have to contend with the new Basel III capital require- ments and the regulatory red tape of the Dodd-Frank Act, but when they dare to complain, they get shamed by none other than the wife of the U.S. Treasury Secretary. Timothy Geithner hit back at recent industry complaints about regulatory reform in a surprisingly per sonal way, describing in a recent Wall Street Journal op-ed his wife's "bewilderment" at bankers' attitudes today, and her reminder of "the panicked calls" she took for him back in 2008 "from the then-giants of our financial system."
