China's stock markets have been frenetic - not unexpected for an economy expanding at more than an 8 percent clip in a crisis year. But China's recovery so far has had little appeal to US fund managers. Only one of the 19 firms added in the past year to China's authorized foreign investors is from the US. Where others see opportunity, many US funds see obstacles. For one thing, China's A-share market does not seem to score well in terms of valuation. For another, there's China's complex regulatory system.
