Investors don't have to don fatigues and head forthe front lines: In late March, London-based FTSE Group and Washington research firm Conflict Securities Advisory Group unveiled a new, so-called terror-free index in response to a spike in U.S. legislation calling for state fund managers to dump shares In companies doing business in countries deemed to support terrorism. 'The index privatizes the war on terror. Investors are really saying, 'Not with my money,'" says Roger Robinson, president and CEO of CSAG, whose research screened out companies with active, nonhumanitarian business ties to such countries as Iran, North Korea, Sudan and Syria.
