When Pakistan floated a 10-year eurobond last May to raise $500 million from international capital markets, the issue was oversubscribed seven times. A decade ago, the South Asian economy seemed on the brink of bankruptcy and close to default on its international repayment commitments. But the May issue's massive oversubscription was a thumbs-up from global investors, who now seem keen to bet on Pakistan for the longer term, despite concerns about its political stability.
