As it now stands, the law "On Foreign Investment in the Russian Federation" provides equal rights to foreign and local market participants, including guarantees of the rights to own property and to settle any disputes in court. It also contains a grandfather clause preventing retroactive enforcement of future laws, as well as a provision granting nonresidents the right to transfer any revenue and income outside of Russia.
