Siam Commercial Bank (SCB), which recently celebrated its 100th anniversary, is well positioned for continued growth despite prevailing economic and political uncertainties and fierce competition in the Thai banking sector. Last year, the Bank was ranked as the leader in mortgage loans, credit card issuance, and business cash management. It also took the number one position for asset management and capital markets underwriting. Far from resting on its laurels, however, SCB remains committed to building for the long term. "Although consumer confidence remains poor due to political uncertainties, I believe that it will bounce back and steady economic growth will resume when the situation is resolved," says Dr. Vichit Suraphongchai, Chairman of the Executive Committee of SCB.
