In light of the present unstable security environment in the region and the changing terms of warfare, what is your assessment of the role air power is playing and will play in the near future? CAS: Globalisation has enhanced the interconnectivity amongst continents and spheres. This has also led to increased interaction between non-state actors spread across the globe leveraging cyber space. The political and economic unrest fuelled by religious intolerance and terrorism propagated by these groups are not limited to one country or region but have far reaching consequences. These have led to many uprisings and conflicts the world over in the recent past. In all these uprisings, air power has been extensively employed both in support of and to quell the dissident elements as witnessed in Libya, Syria, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Israel, to name a few.
