During the first half of 2013, the Russian AF's cadets will start to make their flights on new Yak-130 combat trainers. It was stated by the Russian MoD's spokesman, while making comments on results of new aviation systems' acquisitions during 2012. Last year IRKUT Corporation shipped fifteen Yak-130 combat trainers to the Russian Air Force under the contract on 55 a/c. The contract is to be fulfilled by 2015 , but long-terms development programs of the Russian AF prescribe more acquisitions of this modern a/c. Current plans of the Russian AF envisage acquisition of at least ten additional trainers up to 2020. High level Russian generals were also articulating their plans to form up a new pilot group, which will fly Yak-130 a/c. Earlier the general requirements of the Russian AF in Yak-130 were assessed in a number of 250 planes.
