With the Airbus A320neo seeming to be the flavour of the show, CIT Group was another customer that announced that they had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for leasing 50 A320neo Airbus aircraft for a value of $4.6 billion. "Our goal is to own and maintain one of the youngest and most technologically advanced fleets in the industry and will help us meet our customers' demand for state-of-the-art, fuel efficient aircraft," said Jeffrey Knittel, President of Transportation Finance at CIT. With the increase in the fuel prices you either have to hedge fuel or buy aircraft that are very fuel-efficient. "Our customers' success depends on fuel-efficient, dependable engines and we continue to expand our portfolio to meet the demands of our customer base," added Knittel.
