In a step towards realizing the technology of air breathing propulsion for the advance technology launch vehicle system, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully flight-tested a new generation, high performance sounding rocket from Satish Dhawan Space Centre(SDSC) in Sriharikota island on India's eastern coast. This heaviest ever sounding rocket developed by ISRO weighed 3-tonne and carried a passive scramjet engine combustion module as a test bed for demonstrating air breathing propulsion technology.
