A Test range for radar based Electronic Warfare Systems (EWS) is being developed. According to Dr.Prahlada, Chief Controller of research and development of India's state owned Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), the test range for radar based electronics warfare systems at Chitradurga in Karnataka state will become operational by 2011. "We have already completed the ground work and work on the runway is scheduled to begin soon. With considerable progress in the work, we are looking at inaugurating the 4,000-acres aeronautical test range next year," said Prahlada.
