There are many areas within the packaging area that utilise detergents and disinfectants including fillers, storage/supply vessels, conveyors, tunnel pasteurisers, warmers, coolers, bottle rinsers, etc. In addition to this, there are a number of areas that use detergents and disinfectants as an integral part of the process to achieve a given objective and these include bottle, keg and crate washing operations.rnThere are three commonly used classifications for levels of cleanliness, these being physically, chemically and microbiologically clean. The most appropriate level of cleaning is dependant on the application and standard required.
