The status of mobile broadcast TV worldwide is very diverse. While the services gathered millions of users in Japan (ISDB-T), Korea (DMB) and China (CMMB), the progress in other parts of the world, especially in Europe, remains below expectations so far. Examples of new service launches can be seen in Africa (DVB-H) and the US (ATSC-M/H).The start of services is dominated by governmental support regarding regulation and spectrum provision, and the readiness of the value chain partners to cooperate within a flexible business model. The success of launched services is dependant on the variety of available devices.
