Ce chapitre présente l'utilisation de géomembranes pour la construction de nouveaux barrages et la réhabilitation de barrages anciens. Ce chapitre se limite aux barrages en béton ou en ma?onnerie. Les barrages en BCR sont abordés au Chapitre 6.rnLes principes de conception et d'installation sont similaires pour l'utilisation de géomembranes sur des nouvelles constructions ou sur des réhabilitations, et sont donc décrites ensembles. On notera qu'à l'heure actuelle, il n'existe pas de nouveau barrage en béton conventionnel intégrant une géomembrane, à l'exception de 2 applications partielles au pied.rnSelon le Tableau 29 ci-dessous, il existe 47 barrages en béton ou en ma?onnerie intégrant une géomembrane d'étanchéité.%This Chapter discusses the application of geomembranes in the construction of new dams and in the rehabilitation of old dams. This Chapter is limited to concrete dams and masonry dams. RCC dams are considered in Chapter 6. The principles of design and the installation techniques are similar for the application of geomembranes in new construction and rehabilitation of dams and therefore they are described together. It should be noted that these days there is no new conventional concrete dam incorporating a geomembrane in the design, with the exception of 2 partial applications at heel. According to the following Table 29 there are 47 concrete and masonry dams incorporating a geomembrane for watertightness.
