This chapter outlines the main aspects to be considered in the tender and in the contract for use of a geomembrane sealing system in a dam. The goal of a geomembrane sealing system is to provide or restore imperviousness to a dam. The efficiency, reliability and durability are based on a variety of factors, which include the technical value of the design of the waterproofing system, the quality of the materials and the workmanship, the capability of the waterproofing contractor.
