Proposed amendments to China's Environmental Protection Law do not do enough to address critical problems, although they would update the law with regulations adopted over the past two decades, according to analysts.The law, implemented in 1989 but unchanged since then, needs revision because it "clearly does not meet with the requirements of the times," the National People's Congress (NPC) said in a statement accompanying its proposed revisions.
