The British government pledged Nov. 23 to triple its financial commitment to low-carbon electricity in legislation it introduced in Parliament Nov. 29. But the government plans to postpone until 2016 a decision setting a carbon reduction target for the power industry, the Department of Energy and Climate Change said in the same statement about proposals to appear in the forthcoming Energy Bill.
