In a move toward EU standards and national energy efficiency goals, the Portuguese government has published eco-design regulations for energy-related products. Decree-Law 12/2011, which the Council of Ministers (cabinet) first approved Oct. 21, went into force Jan. 25, the day after publication in Portugal's national register, the Diario da Republica.
