Since the introduction of the gear pump in the 1930s, gear pump technology has increased dramatically. It used to be considered a luxury for a polymer manufacturing plant to have a gear pump installed on their system line. However, it is now considered an industry standard. As with all technology, it easier than ever to have polymer processing completed with less cost to the manufacturer.
