The financial crisis has shattered a number of assumptions and beliefs that were held almost as an article of faith over the last decades. The boundaries between the state and the market have been redrawn and the benefits of liberalization and financial innovation have been questioned. The various actors in the crisis: the bankers, the politicians, the regulators, the central bankers, those working in rating agencies and many others have all been criticized.
