COUNTRY GARDEN HOLDINGS has put on hold a four-year term loan of up to US$2bn after printing a bond issue of a smaller amount earlier this month. China's top real estate developer by sales had been in discussions with relationship lenders in July to form an arranger group on the new-money loan, with all-in pricing of more than 300bp over Libor. However, the process slowed down after banks turned cautious and hesitant following a slew of negative reports that have hit the company in recent weeks.
