摘要

An Underwater Sensor Network (UWSN) is an emerging network paradigm which consists of a number of underwater sensor nodes and Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) that are deployed to perform collaborative monitoring and resource exploration tasks over a given area. The applications of Underwater Sensor Networks (UWSNs) have huge potential for monitoring the health of river and marine environments. Although there are a large number of developed network protocols for wireless sensor networks, the unique characteristics of the UWSNs, such as limited bandwidth capacity, large propagation delay, node mobility, as well as high error probability, lead to a big challenge in the design of UWSNs.
