摘要

This paper focuses on a new model of an elementary four-bar linkage. This is in fact a whole family of mechanisms whose special cases are as follows: the Bennett linkage, the spherical linkage and the plane parallelogram linkage. The mechanism presented herein is formed from the radiuses connected with the revolute pairs of two overlapping general tori. The mechanism under analysis and all its particular solutions form a family of mechanisms with a mobility equal to a unit, connected with the surfaces of the sphere, plane and the symmetric general torus in a three-dimensional space. All these surfaces constitute special cases of the general torus, and the mechanisms related to these surfaces are special cases of a new model of the general spatial four-bar linkage.
