摘要

The present paper formulates a model based upon minimum unit production cost criterion for optimisation of machining parameters (i.e., feed, cutting speed and depth of cut) of cylindrical turned components in computer numerical control (CNC) machines. An evolutionary computational technique, i.e., genetic algorithm is applied for the optimisation of non-linear, highly constraint function. The present approach considers multi pass turning, including roughing and finishing operations. Due to deficiency in earlier models because of consideration of limited machining operations only, the present work is an attempt to conglomerate a total of eight machining operations like, straight turning, facing, circular turning, taper turning, threading, grooving, drilling and boring into one model.
