The issues of the journal published until now have widely shown how important a sound digital literacy can be for the development of suitable competences in today's society, better known as the knowledge society. It is useful to remark here that the attention of the former issues focused on many different aspects of literacy, like the connection between literacy and competence development and the changes recently affecting the first stages of formal education (primary school and more generally compulsory school), forthe difference between the use of digital technologies inside schools and the personal use of the same technologies by the students.
