摘要

A Water Quality Index (WQI) has been developed based on five water quality parameters (DO, BOD, Temperature, Faecal Coliforms and pH) to find the trend of water quality of river Ganga at Varanasi. Based on rating curves, subindices are obtained for each parameter from January 1995 to June 1999. Sub-indices are aggregated using the harmonic mean square formula. The trend of water quality of River Ganga at Varanasi is then obtained using regression plots and Seasonal Kendall test.
