摘要

This paper presents the further development of the work reported by Wang et al. (Wang HF, Swift FJ, Li M. IEE Proc Gener Transm Distrib 1997; 144(3): 263-269): a new method of reduced-order modal analysis completely independent of the eigensolution for the application to select the installing locations and feedback signals of FACTS-based stabilizers in multi-machine power systems. Being eigensolution free, the method proposed in this paper not only successfully avoids the numerical difficulty of eigensolution of high-dimensional matrices but also greatly reduces the computational cost. In the paper, an example three-machine power system is presented where the method proposed is used to select the installing location and feedback signal of a TCSC-based stabilizer.
