It has been noted by some authors that religions that are transformational in nature are more likely to result in entrepreneurial behaviours than others (Audretsch et al, 2007). One religious entrepreneur is Eric Bahme, the lead pastor of the Eastside Foursquare Church, which is part of the Foursquare group of churches in the USA. According to Bahme, 'Within every single person, God plants a desire... I was created entrepreneurial. I love business. But I also love the church.' He calls his approach to his pastoral role as 'mission-based entrepreneurship' and claims that it is the source of the church's financial security (Haught, 2007). To this end, he runs two hotels and a coffee shop that help fund the various ministries of his church.
