摘要

A novel structure of condensers was introduced in the article. It was composed of finned tube rows with a pair of manifolds at either end. The manifolds not only divided refrigerant into several passes, but also made refrigerant condensate drain away from vapor-liquid mixture automatically after each tube pass. The performances of two refrigeration units fixed this novel condenser and a common one was investigated experimentally under outdoor ambient conditions (21-43℃). A small temperature change condensation zone was found in the novel condenser and its pressure drops were smaller (42.8-68.4%) than the normal one. Compared with the common unit, mass flux became greater but sub-cooling was smaller in the novel one except that the discharge pressures of the compressor in the two units were almost similar at the same heat source temperature. The energy efficiency ratio (EER) in the novel unit was improved by 2.8-7.2% under the experimental conditions.
