摘要

Transient testing methods are widely used for determining the heat transfer coefficients of compact heat exchanger surfaces. The maximum slope method is commonly used for reducing the transient test data. The maximum slope is a function of the "ntu" as well as the longitudinal heat conduction parameter. Normally, the longitudinal heat conduction parameter is estimated, and the maximum slope determined experimentally is used to estimate the ntu. The estimation of longitudinal heat conduction parameter is not easy for complex heat exchanger surfaces. In this paper, a method is presented for estimating the ntu and the longitudinal heat conduction parameter directly from the test data using the maximum slope and the time at the maximum slope. The method has been validated experimentally.
