摘要

An investigation of the optimization of heat exchanger networks using two-stream and multi-stream plate heat exchangers is carried out. The pinch technology is employed in the optimization. Both the minimum temperature difference and the corrugation angle for chevron-type plate heat exchangers are optimized at the target stage. The proposed strategy is applied to an industrial case study, and encouraging results are obtained. In addition, a general thermal model is established for analyzing the thermal performance of multi-stream plate heat exchangers. The different configurations of multi-stream plate heat exchangers are discussed based on their applications in the optimization of heat exchanger networks. For the most common three-stream plate heat exchangers, the thermal performance analysis shows that the configuration with individual plates provides only small advantage over the one with dividing frames in terms of overall thermal performance.
