The authors regret that in the published paper, an error occurred while evaluating efficiency of the stepped fin along with few typographical and other minor errors. So, the errors along with relevant results (Figs. 8-11, 12(b), 13 and Table 5) are corrected in this corrigendum. The revised results do not change the overall objective and conclusions of the published paper. The authors would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
