Barqi Tojik (BT), Tajikistan's vertically integrated state power utility, invites sealed bids by 7 May 2019 for the rehabilitation of the hydro-mechanical equipment for the 3015 MW Nurek hydropower plant on the river Vakhsh. The contract will include the design of the rehabilitation project for the hydro-mechanical equipment, the power intake, low-level surface spillway's steel lining, dam drainage pump stations, and fire-fighting water supply equipment, as well as the dismantling and decontamination of the existing equipment, the supply to site, installation and commissioning of the new equipment, and associated minor civil works. The contracted works should be carried out with minimal impact on the plant's operation and dam safety, according to the tender notice published on Barqi Tojik's website on 7 February. Given the overall scope of the envisaged rehabilitation works, the rehabilitation of the hydromechanical equipment will be implemented in one phase.
