Two post-Conference tours took place after AFRICA 2019, to the far south and the far north of Namibia, each covering more than 1200 km. Both set off on the morning of 5 April, and despite complex itineraries, both coaches arrived back at the Windhoek Hilton, for the farewell dinner and overnight stay, at exactly the same time on the afternoon of 9 April. Driving for several hours through the spectacular bushland under clear skies, it was clear why Namibia has been referred to as the 'land of endless horizons'. In addition to occasional herds of animals and small homesteads, the countryside was punctuated by mounds built by termites, sometimes more than 2 m high, which at a distance resembled the stupas of Bagan, Myanmar.
