The Government of Rwanda has allocated FRw 100 billion (about US$ 111 million) for the implementation of the first phase of the Muvumba multipurpose dam project in the northeast of the country. The first phase of the project, which is being carried out by the Rwandan Water and Forestry Authority (RWFA), involves the resettlement of the population in the area of the future reservoir. According to the RWFA, the resettlement phase is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.
