Statkraft, Norway's state-owned power utility, began filling the reservoir of the Moglice storage plant on the river Devoll in southeastern Albania on 21 June after completing the main structures of the dam. The 167 m-high, 440 m-wide asphalt core rockfill dam will impound a reservoir, with a surface area of around 7 km~2 and a maximum storage capacity of more than 360 × 10~6 m~3, of which about half will be available for power production, according to the company. Statkraft said it estimates it will take about 250 days to fill the reservoir, hydrological conditions permitting, implying the entry into commercial operation of the 184 MW plant will be in the first quarter of 2020. Civil works were undertaken by Turkey's Limak. Electro- and hydro-mechanical equipment was supplied by GE.
