Norwegian state-controlled power utility Statkraft has contracted Rain-power for the supply of electromechanical equipment for a new hydropower project and the upgrade of an existing plant. Rainpower announced on 20 June that it will supply the full electromechanical equipment package including vertical Francis turbines for the 8.5 MW Vesle Kjela station that is to be built in Telemark County and for the upgrade of the L0kaunet power station on the river Nidelva, which was commissioned in 1926. Both projects are scheduled to be commissioned by the end of 2020.
