PLAT-Ⅰ and the SIT250s are proven technologies for effective tidal power generation. The system is installed in Grand Passage for performance analysis and comparison with engineering design. The next stage of the system's development is to export the power to the shore. Micro-grid and local grid connections are currently being designed and grid-connection to Westport is intended for later this year. This will be an important step on the path to providing reliable tidal power to coastal communities and interfacing with existing electrical infrastructure.
