The Ministry of Energy of Zambia has granted feasibility study rights (FSRs) to a total of 22 developers within the framework of the GET FiT Zambia Small Hydro Tender. The Ministry announced on 5 November that with the support of the GET FiT Zambia Secretariat it had evaluated 24 applications from entities that had pre-qualified for the tender in May 2019 and had communicated the outcome to the 22 successful entities in mid-September. The entities with FSRs will now be able to carry out feasibility studies on their identified sites in preparation for the tender. The request for proposal (RfP) is scheduled to be launched in the first quarter of 2020, it added.
