Strasbourg is an ideal meeting point for discussions on hydropower, located on the west bank of the Rhine, which forms the border with Germany, and is very close to the Swiss border. It is the capital of the Grand Est region of France (formerly known as Alsace), and the seat of the European Parliament. More importantly for HYDRO 2020 delegates, it lies in the heart of one of the richest hydropower regions of Europe.
