The cost of generating power from onshore wind has fallen by about 25 per cent since 2010, and solar photovoltaic (PV) electricity costs have fallen by 73 per cent, according to an analysis from the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). The analysis also predicts that solar PV costs will halve by 2020. The most efficient onshore wind and solar PV projects could be delivering electricity for an equivalent cost of US¢3/kWh, or less within the next two years, it adds.
