Poyry has been awarded a contract by Debed Hydro LLC to provide engineering and consultancy services for a feasibility study for the Shnogh hydro project in the Republic of Armenia. The assignment includes the review of existing documents and basic studies, feasibility design of the selected options, the construction schedule, bill of quantities, cost estimate, economic evaluation and an executive summary, Poyry announced on 16 February. The project, which is on the river Debed in the northern province of Lori, close to the Georgian border, is being implemented by Energy Invest Holding via its newly created subsidiary Debed Hydro, which will construct and operate the plant. The Investors Club of Armenia, a local private investment fund, will provide equity financing equivalent to 15 per cent of the investment.
