A project to integrate and manage increasing levels of distributed customer energy resources on the Oahu grid is being undertaken by the Hawaiian Electric Company and Opus One Solutions. It will help to develop methods of managing high levels of distributed energy resources (such as private rooftop solar, energy storage, and electric vehicles) while controlling infrastructure costs. It is funded in part by Elemental Excel-erator, a growth accelerator and catalyst for deployment and growth of new technologies.
