Altogether the project lasted for approximately one year. Thereafter, and following six months of trouble-free operation, the conversion was deemed to be completely successful. Loup River Power District then contracted Wartsila to convert the Monroe plant's other two turbines in a similar way. Some minor adjustments were made to the overall design to address the observations and experience from the first conversion project. The oil-to-water conversion has delivered the plant with an environmentally sustainable solution with improved serviceability and reduced lifecycle costs.
