The last phase of the Noor Ouarzazate complex in Morocco, the world's largest solar powerplant will begin commercial operation in October. The earlier phases started operation earlier this year. The plant represents a critical step in the Moroccan Solar Energy Programme, which aims to generate 42 per cent of its electrical power from renewable energy by 2020, and 52 per cent by 2030.
