The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has approved a US$ 55 million dual currency loan to support the privatization of two hydropower plants in Turkey. The loan, comprising US$ 35 million in US dollars and the equivalent of US$ 20 million in Turkish lira, has been provided to the Turkish independent power producer Entek Elektrik for the acquisition from the country's state Privatization Administration of the operating rights for two storage plants totalling 178 MW in the southeastern province of Kahraman-maras.
