The renewable energy developer Joule Africa, of the UK, is to develop the 485 MW Kpep hydropower project on the Katsina-Ala river in northwestern Cameroon, following the signing of a tripartite agreement with the Government, through the Ministry of Water Resources and Energy (MINEE), and a major national power utility, Energy of Cameroon, ENEO. A letter of intent to this effect was signed in the capital Yaounde on 13 January by the Minister of Water Resources and Energy, Basile Atangana Kouna, the Chief Executive of ENEO, Joel Nana Kontchou, and the President of Joule Africa, Mark A. Green.
