The Orange Senqu River Basin Commission is set to tender the preparation of a water resources investment strategy and plan and a priority trans-boundary multipurpose project for the Orange-Senqu river basin in southern Africa. It follows the signing of a letter of agreement in late January with the African Water Facility (AWF) and NEPAD Infrastructure Project Preparation Facility (NEPAD-IPPF), which are co-financing the project. AWF, which is managed by the African Development Bank, and NEPAD-IPPF, have agreed to provide about €2 million and $ 1.2 million, respectively, for the preparation of the project, which will cost around €3.5 million.
