Eishken Ltd has announced plans to invest GB£ 200 million (US$ 263.4 million) in the development of a 300 MW pumped-storage hydro plant using sea water on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland, UK. Eishken announced in late August that it expects to seek consent for the scheme on the Eishken Estate later this year. The project, which would take between three and five years to construct, is to be developed adjacent to, and will form part of, its already consented 162 MW Muaitheabhal wind farm.
