Opening the 10th ICOLD European Club Symposium, which took place from 25 to 30 October in Antalya, Turkey, H.E. Prof Dr Veysel Eroglu, Minister of Forestry and Water Affairs, and Hon President of TRCOLD, spoke of his country's long history of dam engineering, and noted that Turkey was one of the top ranking countries in the world as regards the number of dams and hydropower plants under construction or in operation.
